SPECIAL
REPORT .
It was all started by a couple of ladies, a Miss 'arris and a Mrs Trebilcock,
holding an impromtu conversation on the stage, during one of our concerts.
This ill-mannered intrusion drew much attention.
Not to be beaten, our Jack C.and Pat W. were quick to redress the balance
with their quality spoken monologues. Unfortunately the audience, some
of whom were fuelled by strong drink, took it the wrong way and started
laughing at these fine examples of literary elocution.
But it was veteran performer Lester G. who really set the tone of the
evening with his serious and well delivered recitation. Your correspondent
could not hear properly because of the uncalled-for laughter and lewd
behaviour of a small minority at this serious and poetic contribution.
It just shows the class of person that attends these events. In spite
of the noise, the delivery was well paced and appeared to have as its
subject the consequences of a dripping tap.
